Having a home studio is wonderful, especially when the weather is beautiful and the studio becomes an outdoor studio. Shoutout to my backyard!
With the change in scenery, I also challenged myself to break out of what I am used to. With the wind blowing, sun shining, and music playing, I started painting with no thought as to how the canvas might turnout. (For a planner like me this is quite a step out of my comfort zone.)
Along with no road map also came new techniques. The painting took shape with ribbons of horizontal lines that added layers of color and depth. I also added drip marks as well as texture using pallet knives. Using colors that I usually avoid also gave me the courage to add splatter paint. Can't say that I didn't have fun with this one!
And once the paint settled in, I have a new work of art. Thank goodness for spring weather, bright colors, and trying new things!
